Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
Anybody own, or shoot this pistol? Comments?
I once had a 9mm FS and found Beretta to be a very fine pistol. http://images.buzzillions.com/images...791811_raw.jpg |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
I have a stoeger couger which is the same rotating bolt mechanism and is the steel predecessor to the px4. I
I REALLY like the rotating bolt setup, VERY tight lockup. The PX4 is on my short list... |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
I went with the XDM 9mm.
I like the 20rd capacity. |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
I'm very partial to the 1911A1. The grip angle works perfectly for me. Whereas the Glock, I cannot get use to. My XD-9 feels more like the Glock then the 1911.
Can anybody comment on the grip angle based on my comments above. Hey, TechGuy, interesting bolt (or barrel) rotation mech.. Seems like it really helps the pistol perform, but also is it not one more thing to eventually wear out and go wrong. Is that a valid opinion, or not at all a concern? |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
They feel good in the hand to me. Point well, good ergonomic grip, look sexy. They use different mags than the 92. :thumpdown
Word is keep the action lubed, especially the barrel locking lugs. They come in several trigger configurations. I would definitely test fire a few different ones, before I purchased the PX4. Beretta Forums: http://www.berettaforum.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=13 |

I can't offer any help as far as how it feels though. I suggest going to your local shop and holding one. |

It's a damn fine looking pistol (Terminatorish: Sarah Connor Chronicles). I like to buy top quality, so will be reading reviews for a few days. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
Before the boating accident I owned the .45
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/42634 I use to shoot a colt 1911 gov model and loved the feel in my hand , after shooting the px4 I like the fit in my hand better .I had not shot it enough to say if there would be any excessive wear but as of the accident I'd say there wouldn't be any problems. Strips very easy for cleaning , adjustable grip for various hand sizes . Mine was set the same as the one pictured and fit into my hand which I would say was a mid sized hand . I still like the 1911 and if both were laid in front of me I would still probably pick up the colt first just cause I know it well enough to feel comfortable with it in the light or the dark. |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
Also looking at the PX4 for both myself and the wife. Nephew says buy Beretta, all of the military uses them as well as various police forces. Was still looking at this particular gun before even talking to my Nephew.

Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
While I think you deserve a ruger semi-auto or taurus or something - anyone looking at 9mm should be buying a CZ. If I shot 9mm I would certainly have a large CZ collection.
Beretta is overpriced for what it is - and yes I have a few. If you went to a different/more powerful round I would be looking at an EAA witness. 40/45/10mm You don't mention your action preference which is the biggest thing you should figure out before even looking - or what you are doing with it which is equally as important. |
Re: Beretta PX4 Strorm F in the 9mm
I had one in a 40 SW and really like it. That was before the accident. It's all preference, my wife preferred the XD in same round. His n Hers I guess.

it's on my list as well. i have a 92fs, a neos, and an cx4, all function flawlessly.

Seriously though... I have a friend who owns that gun, I've shot it and it's OK... I like my H&K P2000 V3 MUCH better though. My friend likes the PX4 just fine, hasn't had any problem with it (and he does prefer 1911 grip, like yourself). One other thing - if you like 1911's, be sure to try the Springfield Armory XD. |

Rebel, another gun we have been looking at is the Taurus, PT-24/7 Pro-Compact. This is the one we are steering heavily towards. I like it's second chance capabilities with a primer that's either slow or a dud. In particular this is the model, it is 17+1 capable. |

Other than PMs I can't think of anything better to buy than guns at this moment. Besides, I've made over $100 worth of FRNs since I bought them. Time that those were put to better use. |

^^^^^^^^^ It has been said Tarus is better known for its revolvers and avoid the semi's like the plauge.
Have they improved in the semi market?? T |

Nice... I like the RAMI - but I stick with .40 so I pass on CZ products - much to my displeasure.
I'll be grabbing a Witness Stock *soon* 15 rounds of 10mm & .40 conversion - wish I could justify the Gold Team for shootin....sexiest pistol imo. Witness Gold Team - CZ SP-01 and Witness Stock with full length dust shroud - if I can get it DA/SA |
